Lucerne Quest: a free self-guided walk through the old town

About 4.5 km on foot, 3.5 hours at a relaxed pace.

Self-guided walking tour of Lucerne's old town, free and on your phone. Fourteen stops take you from the railway station along the river and the lake, over the two wooden bridges, up to the medieval Musegg Wall and down through the painted squares to the Lion Monument. At every stop you get the story, three quick facts, a photo idea and one quiz question.

The whole route is about 4.5 km and takes around three and a half hours at an easy pace, longer if you visit the Glacier Garden or the Bourbaki Panorama. Start whenever you like, go at your own speed and skip what you want. The walk ends a few steps from the lion, where every finisher gets a free coffee and cake (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00, sponsored by BHMS).
