Musegg Wall
Museggmauer · Männliturm
The story
The Musegg Wall is the longest city wall in Switzerland that survives in one piece. It was built in the 14th and 15th centuries to protect Lucerne from the north, and it still runs for 870 metres along the hill with nine towers, out of about thirty that once stood here. From 1 April to 1 November you can walk along part of the wall and climb four of the towers for free. The Männliturm, with the little armed man on top, gives you the best view over the roofs, the river and the lake.
